This includes review of their identification, insurance coverage, prior project history, work photos, relevant experience, resume, education, certificates, trade-related qualifications, and other supporting information that helps us determine whether they are a strong fit for the scope being assigned. We also look closely at whether the professional has completed work similar to the project in question, and whether the quality of that work reflects the standard we expect. This is important because not all experience is equal. A contractor may be generally skilled, but we still want to see evidence that they have performed that specific type of work to a high standard before dispatching them to a similar job. In addition, we may review broader indicators of professionalism and reliability, including their responsiveness, documentation status, account standing, and other relevant data available through our system. The goal is not simply to find someone available β€” it is to make a qualified and informed assignment decision. Just as importantly, the homeowner is not left alone to deal with the professional if issues arise. MEINHAUS project managers and support staff remain available to review concerns, discuss workmanship, assess professionalism, and help address issues based on the agreed scope of work and reasonable trade-standard expectations. A deposit is necessary because once a project is approved, MEINHAUS begins committing real time, planning, and resources toward preparing the job for execution. Depending on the project, this may include scheduling, project management, trade coordination, administrative preparation, scope confirmation, material planning, and reserving production capacity. In many cases, the deposit also helps secure the project within our schedule and supports the early-stage costs required to move the job forward properly. Deposits also help ensure that projects moving into scheduling are being authorized seriously by the client. Because we are coordinating real people, time, and operational resources behind the scenes, we cannot treat accepted projects as casual placeholders. As for refunds, deposit treatment depends on the stage the project has reached and what costs or commitments have already been made. In general, if a client chooses not to proceed after authorizing the project, some or all of the deposit may be non-refundable, particularly where planning work, scheduling, administrative processing, purchasing, or project preparation has already taken place. If materials have been ordered, labour has been scheduled, custom items have been prepared, or non-recoverable costs have been incurred, those amounts would generally not be refundable. If a refund is available, it would be assessed based on the actual status of the project and the expenses or commitments already attached to it.
