How the MEINHAUS Project Model Works

How the MEINHAUS Project Model Works

A Step-by-Step Guide for MEINHAUS Pros

MEINHAUS is not a traditional lead marketplace.

We do not simply collect homeowner information and sell that lead to several contractors.

Instead, MEINHAUS sells a customized renovation or home-service project directly to the homeowner at a defined price, manages the customer relationship, and then assigns qualified professionals from the MEINHAUS Pro network to complete the required work.

This means that when you see a project opportunity inside the MEINHAUS Pro App, a large portion of the sales process has already been completed.

The customer has already discussed the project with MEINHAUS, a scope of work has been developed, the project has been priced, and the basic customer expectations have been established.

Your role as the Pro is to complete the assigned portion of the work professionally, efficiently and according to the approved scope.

1. MEINHAUS Sells the Project to the Homeowner

Every project begins with the customer.

MEINHAUS works with the homeowner to understand what they want completed and then develops a customized project based on the information available.

This may include customer-supplied photos, videos, measurements, product selections, site information and conversations with the MEINHAUS estimating team.

From this information, MEINHAUS creates a detailed scope of work.

The customer is then offered a fixed project price for the defined scope, subject to the inclusions and exclusions clearly identified in the estimate.

The goal is to make sure the homeowner understands exactly what MEINHAUS is agreeing to provide before the project begins.

If conditions are later discovered that were specifically excluded from the original scope, those items may require a separate change order.

2. The Project Is Released to the MEINHAUS Pro Network

Once a project is ready for professional assignment, MEINHAUS can release the opportunity through the Pro App.

Depending on the project, Pros may be shown information such as:

  • The detailed scope of work
  • Customer or site photographs
  • Approximate project location
  • Expected project timing
  • Material responsibilities
  • Relevant trade requirements
  • Approximate project duration
  • The compensation available for completing the work

This gives Pros an opportunity to review the project before applying.

You should only apply for projects you are confident you can complete according to the scope, schedule and quality expectations.

3. Applying Does Not Automatically Mean Assignment

When multiple Pros apply for a project, MEINHAUS reviews the available accounts and determines which professional is the strongest fit.

Project assignment can consider several factors.

These include the Pro's experience with that service, geographic location, availability, account completeness, previous MEINHAUS performance, MEINHAUS ProScore, and membership status.

Premium members may receive additional advantages within the assignment process compared with free accounts, particularly when multiple similarly qualified Pros are interested in the same opportunity.

However, membership alone does not guarantee assignment.

The objective is always to select a professional who is appropriately qualified and likely to complete the project successfully.

4. The Project Is Assigned

Once MEINHAUS selects a Pro, the project is formally assigned.

At this point, the Pro should carefully review the complete scope again before work begins.

Do not rely on assumptions or verbal conversations that are not reflected in the project information.

If anything appears unclear, contact the MEINHAUS project team before beginning the affected work.

This is important because the customer purchased a specific project from MEINHAUS.

The assigned Pro is responsible for completing that defined work rather than independently changing the project with the homeowner.

Any requested changes should be communicated to MEINHAUS so they can be reviewed, priced and approved when necessary.

5. Scheduling and Project Coordination

MEINHAUS helps coordinate scheduling between the homeowner and the assigned Pro.

Depending on the project, we may also help coordinate:

  • Customer access
  • Start dates
  • Material delivery
  • Customer-supplied materials
  • Supplier pickup
  • Other trades
  • Project sequencing
  • Special site requirements

The exact level of coordination depends on the project.

Pros are expected to communicate promptly when scheduling issues arise.

If a start date needs to change, the MEINHAUS project manager should know as early as possible so the customer can be updated properly.

6. Materials

Material responsibility varies from project to project.

Some projects may include materials supplied by MEINHAUS.

Others may include customer-supplied materials.

Some projects may require the Pro to purchase or pick up specified materials.

The project scope should identify the expected material arrangement.

Do not substitute major materials, finishes or products without approval.

If you discover that additional materials are required outside the approved scope, contact MEINHAUS before making assumptions about who will be responsible for the cost.

7. Milestone Photos Are Required

Documentation is an important part of the MEINHAUS project process.

Pros should take clear photographs at important project milestones and submit them through the app when requested.

The exact photos required depend on the service.

For example, a bathroom project may require photos after demolition, rough plumbing, waterproofing, tile installation and final completion.

A roofing project may require photos of the exposed decking, underlayment, flashing details and completed roof.

These photographs help MEINHAUS:

  • Confirm the work is progressing according to scope
  • Document conditions that will later be concealed
  • Answer customer questions
  • Resolve potential disputes
  • Maintain a permanent project record
  • Review Pro workmanship
  • Approve project completion

Good project documentation protects everyone involved.

8. Communicating Problems During the Project

Construction does not always go exactly as expected.

Hidden damage, customer requests, material problems or unexpected site conditions can arise.

If something changes the scope, cost or expected completion time, contact MEINHAUS before proceeding whenever reasonably possible.

Do not make major pricing agreements directly with the customer on a MEINHAUS project.

MEINHAUS is responsible for the customer contract and must determine whether additional work requires a change order.

Early communication is one of the most important behaviours of a successful MEINHAUS Pro.

9. Project Completion

When your work is complete, notify MEINHAUS through the project process and submit the required final photos.

Completion is generally confirmed through three viewpoints:

The Pro confirms that the assigned scope has been completed.

The MEINHAUS Project Manager reviews the scope, documentation and any outstanding issues.

The Customer confirms that the project has reached the expected completion stage.

If deficiencies are identified, the Pro may be required to return and correct work that falls within the original scope or workmanship obligations.

Once the project is accepted as complete, MEINHAUS closes the project.

10. Your Performance Is Reviewed

Completed projects contribute to your history within the MEINHAUS network.

Both the MEINHAUS project team and the customer may review the project and your performance.

Important factors can include:

  • Workmanship
  • Communication
  • Reliability
  • Schedule performance
  • Cleanliness
  • Professionalism
  • Scope compliance
  • Photo documentation
  • Customer experience
  • Ability to resolve issues

These results can influence your MEINHAUS ProScore and may affect your eligibility and priority for future projects.

Every completed project is therefore an opportunity to strengthen your account.

11. Pro Payment

Once the project is complete and the required completion process has been satisfied, payment is processed according to the project terms.

Depending on the size and specifics of the project, Pros are generally paid within approximately 2 to 10 business days after approved completion.

Certain projects may have different payment structures or milestone payments, which will be communicated separately when applicable.

To prevent delays, make sure that all required completion photos, invoices, project documentation and requested information have been submitted.

Why MEINHAUS Uses This Model

Our goal is to remove unnecessary friction from both sides of the renovation transaction.

The homeowner receives a defined project, clear pricing, centralized communication and MEINHAUS accountability.

The Pro receives a project that has already gone through the sales and estimating process, with a defined scope, project information and compensation structure.

As the MEINHAUS system improves, we want Pros to spend less time chasing leads, writing unpaid estimates and repeatedly selling themselves.

Instead, qualified professionals should be able to review organized project opportunities, accept suitable work and focus on completing the job successfully.

That is the model we are building.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is MEINHAUS a lead-selling platform?

No.

MEINHAUS sells and manages the renovation project directly with the homeowner. Pros are subcontractors completing assigned portions of MEINHAUS-managed projects.

Do I have to pay for leads?

No. MEINHAUS does not sell individual homeowner leads to Pros.

Does applying for a project guarantee I will receive it?

No.

MEINHAUS may receive interest from several professionals. Assignment is based on the overall fit between the Pro and the project.

How does MEINHAUS decide who receives the project?

MEINHAUS can consider service experience, location, availability, ProScore, membership status, account verification, previous performance and other project-specific factors.

Does Premium membership guarantee projects?

No.

Premium status can improve your position within the system, but project assignment still depends on suitability for the work.

Can I change the scope directly with the homeowner?

Not without MEINHAUS approval.

If the customer asks for additional or different work, contact the project manager so the request can be reviewed and, if necessary, priced as a change order.

Who supplies materials?

It depends on the project.

MEINHAUS, the customer or the Pro may be responsible for different materials. Always review the project scope before starting.

Are progress photos mandatory?

For many projects, yes.

Photos are an important part of project documentation and can be required for milestone approval, quality control and final payment.

What happens if I discover unexpected damage?

Document the condition and contact MEINHAUS.

Do not assume that work outside the original scope has automatically been approved.

Who communicates with the customer?

Both MEINHAUS and the Pro may communicate with the customer regarding the work, but MEINHAUS remains responsible for the overall customer relationship and commercial agreement.

When is the project considered complete?

Generally when the Pro confirms completion, MEINHAUS has reviewed the project, required documentation has been submitted, and the customer has confirmed or accepted the completed work subject to any outstanding deficiencies.

When will I get paid?

Depending on the project, payment is generally processed approximately 2 to 10 business days after approved completion.

What can delay payment?

Missing completion photos, unresolved deficiencies, incomplete documentation, disputed work or other outstanding project requirements can delay final approval.

How do I improve my chances of receiving future projects?

Keep your account complete, maintain required verification and insurance, apply only to suitable projects, communicate quickly, submit good project documentation, complete work professionally and build a strong MEINHAUS ProScore.

Why does MEINHAUS use ProScore?

ProScore helps MEINHAUS evaluate professionals consistently as the network grows.

It allows project assignment to consider more than who applied first. Account activity, verification, project performance and other relevant factors can help identify Pros who are most likely to produce a successful customer outcome.
